• P2P Texting Connects Communities to Vital Social Services

“We use P2P texting to do outreach to low-income, working Californians to make sure they are aware of, and can take advantage of, critical public assistance programs... among the most effective tools available for addressing poverty in the state. That's why the State of California funds our outreach efforts, including with specific deliverables for outreach via peer to peer texting. We text more than 1 million people each year who we expect are eligible for these public assistance programs, based off of publicly available data.”

  • Ensure Everyone is Counted

“During the 2020 Census, volunteers and staff worked hard to ensure historically undercounted communities had the information they needed to complete the US Census. Some days, our group sent roughly 300,000 texts to communities that had been undercounted before.”

  • A Lifeline to Democracy

““Arizona’s primary was about a week after COVID hit last year and all across the state, recorders were adding and taking away ballot drop boxes and changing the rules about when and where to turn ballots in. We set up a text bank with updates and instructions for turning ballots in and dozens of people we talked to said they wouldn’t have known how to vote if we hadn’t texted them.”
